Euthanasia and assisted suicide have become issues of major concern for Canadians. Since it’s legalization in 2016, over 4000 people have chosen death by “Medical Aid in Dying.” Why should this concern us, and what can we do as individuals to make a difference in the lives of those who are elderly, sick, suffering or alone? This talk will focus on the moral implications of euthanasia and assisted suicide, and also the practical concerns of what to do and what to say to those who are vulnerable and who may experience despair, fear or loss of autonomy at the end of life.
