Different bus stop?
From Cathy Whalen
Parents or Guardians requesting permission for their children to take a bus somewhere other than their regular stop are required to provide the school with a note (or email, or a phone call in an emergency) that contains the following information:
- The name of their child(ren) and attending ____________(School)
- The Route number of the bus they are requesting the alternate transportation
- The name of the stop they are to be dropped off at (they may also include the name of the child(ren) who they will be getting off with). Bus stops are not added on to our schedules for these requests so parents must pick the closest scheduled stop to where they want to go.
- The date(s) of the requested accommodation
I will accommodate “registered” riders for this requested accommodation as long as we get the required information. The requests should come in with at least 24 hours notice. The information above has to be included on the school bus note for the driver as well on the summary forwarded to firstname.lastname@example.org. This information is required for student tracking in the unlikely event of an emergency.
If the required information is not received by the parent, “NO” to the request is a fair answer. While we do provide transportation to and from school, we are not a taxi service. Parents need not be directed to me unless the circumstances are warranted by an emergency.
I will accommodate requests from families who do not have their children registered on the bus under special circumstances on a case by case bases. All the above-mentioned information is required as well as emergency contact information
Thank you very much.
