Many of our Bulkley Valley Christian School supporters have a deep desire to give generously—not just to our school, but to their church and other ministries they care about. However, figuring out the absolute best way to give while still being wise with your taxes, estate, and family finances can feel complicated.
Often, we default to simply writing a cheque because it is what we know. But what if there were creative, tax-advantaged ways to increase your charitable impact without altering your day-to-day budget?
On Monday, April 27, BVCS is proud to partner with Christian Stewardship Services (CSS) to host a special Smart Giving Seminar right here at the school.
We are intentionally keeping this to a small, conversational group format. Our guest presenter (Bill Murray) from CSS will walk us through a formal presentation, but the floor will be open for your specific questions throughout the evening.
What We Will Cover:
- Gifts of Appreciated Securities: Learn how donating publicly traded stocks or mutual funds directly to a charity can completely eliminate your capital gains tax, allowing you to give more for less.
- Donor Advised Funds (DAFs): Discover how to set up what is essentially a “charitable savings account,” allowing you to get an immediate tax receipt now and distribute the funds to your favorite charities over time.
- Estate Planning & Legacy: Explore practical ways to ensure your family is well-cared for while still leaving a lasting legacy for the causes you value most.
