Turn skills into a rewarding summer career with the upcoming Lifeguard Training Program at the BV Regional Pool. This program offers a comprehensive suite of courses designed to take participants from confident swimmers to certified professionals.
Courses Offered
Whether just starting the journey or looking to finalize certifications, the BV Regional Pool offers the right course:
- Bronze Medallion: Build foundational lifesaving skills and confidence.
- Bronze Cross: Advance teamwork and lifesaving techniques. Note: This course is recognized as two Grade 11 credits.
- Standard First Aid (OFA 2): Learn essential CPR, AED, and first aid skills.
- National Lifeguard: The final step to supervising and working in pool environments. Note: This course is recognized as two Grade 12 credits.
- Swim & Lifesaving Instructor: Gain leadership experience by learning to teach swimming and survival skills. Note: This course, when taken with Bronze Cross, is recognized as three Grade 11 credits.
Financial Support
Applicants may be eligible for up to $1,400 in savings for National Lifeguard and/or Swim & Lifesaving Instructor courses. Please refer to the attached poster to scan the QR code and learn more about available subsidies.
