An additional Northern Health Order was issued on October 21st, 2021 for all regions of Northern Health east of Terrace which has an immediate impact on school sports. The order is specific to “gatherings and events” and contains details related to youth sporting events, both on and off school property. After receiving clarification on this order from Northern Health, we have implemented the following protocols and procedures.
- All coaches and volunteers attending playdays and tournaments must be vaccinated. Non-vaccinated coaches may continue to practice with their teams.
- For sporting events at BVCS, all spectators and volunteers over the age of 21 must show proof of vaccination.
Obviously this will require additional personnel and we will do our best. It may be necessary to have a no spectator policy on specific weekends if we do not have the necessary personnel available.
Masking is mandatory for all spectators and volunteers who are school-aged and older. There are no exceptions.
It is important to note that other schools may adopt a “no spectator” policy for their sporting events. It will be important to check with specific coaches before planning to attend a sporting event at another school.
