The Bulkley Valley Christian School Royals are excited to announce that a brand new score clock is on its way here…due to arrive during spring break. This new scoreboard is the generous donation of Steti Transport (Steffen and Tracy Apperloo).
This will be a welcome replacement of our current scoreboard, which has lived well beyond its years. James Horner (athletic director) has used his skills in electronic repair to keep our existing board operable up to this point. A new, reliable score board will make game hosting a much better experience.
BVCS has ordered a Nevco 2750—a close match to the scoreboards already installed at SSS and Ebenezer Canadian Reformed School. A key advantage to this is that our student scorekeepers become familiar with one system, regardless of what school the game is being played at. Our new system will include new, slim shot clocks for either end of the gym. The system accommodates basketball and volleyball (among others).
The new scoreboard was ordered in January, and it shipped to us on March 12. We expect to take delivery during spring break. Installation of the new scoreboard will be coordinated with Lubbers Crew Construction and activation/hookup with HIS Electric. While we do not have an installation and activation date yet, it will be done before September.
We are deeply grateful to the Apperloo family and Steti Transport for this generous donation to our athletic program. With the current scoreboard well past its life and in dire need of replacement, this donation takes pressure off of our capital budget for the numerous other pressing needs in and around our facility. This investment in the score clock affirms BVCS’s commitment to developing young athletes and teams, hosting our neighbouring schools with high quality equipment and providing the BVCS of the future with reliable assets. This generous donation will be enjoyed through many years of basketball and volleyball teams, not to mention many PE classes. Thank you for your donation!
