In preparation for our upcoming gym renewal work, we are making our current (old) gym flooring available for free to any takers. The current floor is past its serviceable life in our school, but it’s possible that some might want to use all or part of it for their own purposes.
The floor is made up synthetic ‘SportCourt’ tiles. Each tile is approximately 9¾” by 9¾” and approximately ½” thick. The tiles interlock to form the floor. See photo. We have approximately 5,400 sq ft available.
Anyone taking all or part of the floor may do so only when agreeing to the following terms:
- you are responsible for removal of that portion of flooring that you want—removal from as-is installation in current building
- BVCS will not, under any circumstances, be responsible to store or save any flooring for you after removal from the gym. Your tiles must be removed in their entirety from BVCS on the same day it they are taken out of the gym.
- the floor (or your portion of it) may not be removed from the gym prior to Thursday 18 June at 8 AM and must be removed prior to Friday 19 June at 7 pm. As this project involves various contractors, it is possible that we may change these dates with little or no warning. Any flooring not picked up by our deadline, even if that deadline needs to be changed, will be disposed of by BVCS.
- BVCS may consider alternative dates for floor removal, in consultation with contractors and school administration
- in the event that there are overlapping requests for this flooring, BVCS will give priority to those who responded the soonest. When this cannot be determined, we will give preference to BVCS families, staff or other affiliated parties prior to considering other requests.
- any flooring taken by you may not, under any circumstances, be returned to BVCS
- Flooring is provided free of charge, without warranty, and offered on an “as-is, where-is” basis. Any interested parties are encouraged, but not required, to preview the floor prior to making a commitment.
- you are responsible for all associated transportation of the portion of the floor you have taken. BVCS will not deliver.
- BVCS is not responsible for providing any installation assistance, instructions, materials, recommendations, specifications or anything else required for the removal or installation of this floor.
