The Grade 3/4 class is hosting a Lemonade War in the high School lobbies on June 5th.

There will be 6 Lemonade stands, each team with a different recipe and they each determined their cost considering things like profit margins, added value, and undercutting their competition. This project has included persuasive writing, public speaking (reading their commercials over the school intercom), and math as they calculated costs per cup. A cup of lemonade will cost between $1.50- $2. Students are welcome to support more than one lemonade stand if they so choose.

The class also made a dandelion salve that will also be sold. This is good for reducing swelling in sore muscles and joints, bug bites and bruises. It also is a great moisturizer and can be used as lip balm or on dry patches of skin. These will be sold in 3 sizes for $2, $4 or $8.

Families are welcome to pop in a come support our lemonade war as well! On Friday, June 5 we’ll be open for business from 10:45 – 11:45 AM, and then again from 12:15 – 1:45 PM.

Next week after profits have been totalled the class will vote on where the money should go: towards a legacy project for the school, or a local charity, or maybe to our sister school in Nanfayie.
