We are looking forward to the BVCS Bazaar on Saturday, March 8. As an important part of the Bazaar we plan to host two auctions: a live auction and a bucket auction. However, with the Bazaar only a little over two weeks away we are very short of auction items: we do not have nearly enough donations to host either auction.
Do you have auction donations? Here are some donation ideas:
Bucket Auction
Typically these are items worth less than $100. Some exceptions.
- home-made items (quilts, blankets, wood working projects, etc.)
- kitchen tools and small appliances
- automotive conveniences
- themed gift baskets—fishing, colouring, crafting, movie night
- children’s toys
- board games and puzzles
- camping equipment (tents, backpacks, headlamp) and games (giant jenga, crossnet, etc.)
- small electronics
- certificates for services and experiences—fresh cinnamon buns delivered, babysitting, etc.
- children craft sets (beads, bracelets, colouring, etc.)
- pottery
- outdoor equipment (snowshoes, gaiters, etc.)
Live Auction
Typically these are items, experiences and services worth more than $100. Some exceptions.
- patio furniture
- home-built wood working projects
- kitchen appliances
- tools
- gift certificates for local businesses (retail, auto servicing, restaurants, etc.)
- local experiences (jet boat rides, berry picking trips, fly casting lessons, golf lessons, etc.)
- outdoor games (croquet set, spike ball, etc.)
- meat and/or produce supply (goat, lamp, year-supply of produce, etc.)
- experience meals (ladies of the lake, Italian dinner for 6, high tea, etc.)
- cow manure
- firewood
- personal services (pedicures, manicures, etc.)
- cabin rentals
- electronics
Get creative and have fun! Put together a gift basket, meal or experience. Find something new and exciting in a local shop! Please let us know ASAP about your donation. If donations remain too low to run these auctions we will need to cancel.
