Each year, BVCS K-12 students take on a ‘Christmas project’ for the benefit of others. Over the years, this has included Christmas shoeboxes, singing for the elderly, Salvation Army Kettles, and more.

This year we’d like to challenge ourselves to something we have never yet tried: a sculpturing contest using cans of food. It’s a fun way to encourage donations to the Food Bank this Christmas, and helps us to pay attention to those in our community who are hard-hit by economic and other pressures.

How can you participate?

  • Bring cans of food to school. As you can see from the examples, it’s helpful to have sets of cans of the same dimensions.
  • Don’t remove, colour or alter the labels—the labels will be important for the folks who receive this food through the food bank.
  • Bring canned food by Friday, December 4
