We are so excited to welcome you to our production of “Newsies”! Unfortunately, we have seen an influx of fraudulent activity on our Facebook Event pages.
Please read the following carefully to protect yourself and your family:
The Situation
Automated scammers and “bots” are posting comments claiming they have extra tickets for sale because they “can’t make it to the show.” These are fake accounts looking to steal your money through apps like Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp.
How to Stay Safe
-
Only Buy Official: The only authorized way to purchase tickets is through our school office, at Mills Interior Stationery, or at the door if tickets are available.
-
Ignore “PM Me” Requests: If you see a comment on social media asking you to “Private Message” or “DM” for tickets, it is a scam. Do not engage with these individuals.
-
Do Not Send Digital Payments: We will never ask you to pay for tickets via a personal Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp account. Avoid eTransfers to people you do not recognize.
What to do if you see a scammer
If you see a suspicious comment on our Facebook page, please Report it as Spam to Facebook and do not reply. Our team is working hard to delete these comments and block the accounts as they appear.
We can’t wait to see you at the show! Thank you for supporting our students and keeping our community safe.
